MEASURE YOUR ROOM:

Make a simple outline drawing. Need help with this?
Measure the length of each wall. When in doubt, round to the nearest half inch.
Measure the width of the door – this is important to make sure you can get the new furniture into the space.

PHOTOGRAPH YOUR ROOM:

Take a photo from each corner of the room – aimed at the opposite corner.
Take a close up photo of anything (furniture, rug, accessories, etc) currently living in another room that you want to include in the design.

MEASURE YOUR WINDOW:

Knowing the right measurements for your window is important when creating window solutions. The following five measurements will make it easier for you to create the solution that you need.

1. Measure the width of your window. Add at least 10 cm. on each side to get the right width of your curtain rod or rail. To pull your curtains or panel curtains back further, add more.
2. Measure the height of your window frame. Add 10 cm. on the top to get the right position of your curtain rod, rail or blind
3. Measure the height of the wall from floor to ceiling.
4. Measure left or right side wall to window.
5. Measure the height of the window, measure from floor to window.
